    Nobelium Rear Brake Lights

    Guys,

    My rear brake

lights nobelium yearner work. (all three)

I have checked the fuses and they appear to be okey. The reversring lights body of work (electrical fuse 25). Have also check fuse (31 or 33) and appears to be ok.

Any different suggestions for the fault. Could it be the break wheel tack. (How would you know).

All else lights works ok. (Indicators/hazards , tail, rear fog and reverse lights).

    Regards
    Andrew

    P.S. thanks Pedro.

Blend 25 supplies brake lights and reverse lights. As you have contrary lights, fault must be either brake switch or harness wiring.
My money would comprise on the brake switch non making when the wheel is pressed.
I'm non real sure on the setup with the brake swop, but it shouldn't Be too hard to test.

    Possible explanation

If information technology is anything like my '91 RR Classic it is quite likely that the brake light switch has fallen out of its climbing hole.

The innovation has a slippery tapered inner piece that is supposed to spread the outer climb flange happening the consistency of the switch and hold the switch forum in the mounting hole. The substitution plunger that contacts the pedal also has an adjustable centre ratchetting section. Even a new one comes irresponsible and so - no brake lights.
    Go for this helps.

Earlier types had a simple screw thread adjustment with locknuts. Much more time-tested!

Unless you have blown 3 globes, probably the pedal swap.

    Bracken Pedal Switch

    Thanks guys,

Right got location and the cruise control condition didn't cancel as easy when using the brake sol I'm assuming information technology's correlate the switch.

    Back to the drafting board.

Pulled the switch and proved for resistance when open and closed and looks ok.

Inserted a piece of electric wire across the multi-plug which goes into the brake switch and this ideally should have put the brake lights on only no conk out.

What's next. Pasture brake Lamp Relay? (Harness wire and where to start?).

Foremost, with the lighting connected, check that you bear 12v at final 1 (gullible/orange wire) of the brake wheel switch connector and ground. Then short out endmost 1 and 3 (green/purple). This should put 12v at the Pteridium aquilinu lights.
If still none 12v at pasture brake lights you suffer a wiring harness problem.

    Biggin

What approximately the brake lamp electrical relay. Just looking through the workshop blue-collar and information technology indicates from the ECU is a brake lamp electrical relay and all ABS,Tc & HDC should work (which is my case). Merely thing is I cant find the brake lamp relay.

What's the likely resultant if information technology's the wiring harness. Is it big dollars or is this a 'how long is a nibble of draw question'.

Would like to eliminate the brake lamp relay first.

Leave have another go at your procedure but still maybe the brake lamp relay.

If you look at page 43.1 (Exterior Lamps - Bracken and Reverse Lamps) of the electric circuit diagrams in RAVE you will see that fuse 25 straight feeds the brake pedal switch which puts power directly onto the brake lights. If you don't have 12v on terminal 3 of the brake switch when it is operated, then you will have no lights. If you dress, and still have zero lights then you have a wiring/connector problem.
My understanding is that the relay is for the SLABS ECU to produce the bracken lights mechanically when in hill decent mode, but I stand to be corrected here.
Anyway, the relay is independant of the brake light operation via the brake pedal switch.
    Hope this makes sense.

My understanding is when in HDC mode the ECU manipulation the brake swooning relay when braking force is beingness applied (same). Non sure what's involved with the harness and why it would give way.

This possibly one for the mechanics.
